Chicago police involved in two crashes

Chicago police vehicles were involved in two crashes on the city’s South Side between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

A motorcycle slammed into the back of a parked squad car on South Western Avenue, around 1 a.m.

Both the motorcycle’s driver and a passenger were hospitalized, but their injuries were not life-threatening.

Officers were not hurt.

Just a few hours prior, around 9 p.m., two squad cars responding to a call for assistance collided in the intersection of 111th and Normal.

Two officers were treated at an area hospital for minor injuries.
