Chicago officer, man injured in Lawndale high-rise fire

A Chicago police officer and a man both suffered smoke inhalation at a high-rise fire in the Lawndale neighborhood.

The fire started in a 4th-floor apartment on the 2900 block of West Harrison.


Investigators say someone was smoking near an oxygen tank, when it caught fire.

Both the man and police officer are in good condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
