CHICAGO – Fire crews rescued several people from a burning building in Richton Park, about 40 miles south of Chicago.

The first started just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 3900 block of Tower Drive.

Skycam9 was over the scene as firefighters used a ladder to pull people out of the building. They then lowered them to the ground.

A witness posted a video to Facebook that showed flames engulfing several Park Towers Apartment Homes units.

One man reportedly suffered serious injuries after jumping from his balcony.

“We just heard a lot of screams, a lot of kids screaming ‘I can’t breathe, help,'” said witness Natalie Capelton.

Investigators are still working to find out what sparked the blaze.
