WADSWORTH, Ill. — Two separate fatal crashes occurred on the Tri-State Tollway overnight Thursday, as heavy rains caused flooding and dangerous road conditions across the area.
In one accident, a single vehicle crashed into a light pole on southbound I-294 near Mannheim. One person was killed. Their identity has not yet been released.
In another crash just past the Wisconsin state line, a semi-truck collided with another vehicle at IL-173. The driver of the vehicle was killed. Their identity has not yet been released.
