At least 6 sent to hospital after CTA bus crashes into NW Side building

CHICAGO — At least six people were sent to hospitals after a CTA bus crashed into a building on the city’s Northwest Side.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m. Friday in the 5100 block of West Fullerton in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

A CTA spokesperson said bus No. 74 was at the intersection of Laramie and Fullerton when the driver attempted to avoid a tow truck that was headed towards the bus. The CTA bus swerved out of the way, and then crash into a building.

According to police, approximately six people were transported to area hospitals in good condition, including the bus driver.
