DCFS investigating after 2 young girls found alone in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood

CHICAGO — Two young girls were found alone outside in the city’s South Shore neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

The sisters were found in the 1700 block of East 72nd Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The girls were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital for evaluation. They are reported to be in good condition and have been released to their grandmother.

The Department of Children and Family Services is investigating.

The father of the 5-year-old says he has been in contact with DCFS, and is eager to find out how this incident happened.
