CHICAGO — The head of the Chicago police union has a hearing Monday that could result in his firing.

John Catanzara was elected as the head of the Fraternal Order of Police while he was still under investigation for police rule violations.

The hearing with the Chicago Police Board will determine whether he violated the policing mission, which requires officers to be fair and unbiased.

The police boad is not expected to make a decision until sometime next year.
