HARWOOD HEIGHTS, Ill. – A man surrendered to a SWAT team after an hours-long standoff in the Northwest suburbs.

Police said a man had barricaded himself inside a home in Harwood Heights, near Lawrence and Odell avenues, for several hours Sunday evening.

The incident apparently led to a standoff with an area SWAT team. 

Around 8:45 p.m., the man was taken into custody.
