Chicago hosted a record number of tourists this summer.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel will announce the city had a record high of more than 4.5 million hotel rooms available, and hit a record occupancy rate of 87 percent this summer.

The Mayor’s office says tourism has created more than 5,000 jobs in the last three years.
