Chicago bound flight makes emergency landing after bird strike

A flight on its way to Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing after a bird strike.

The Southwest Airlines flight had just taken off from Raleigh, North Carolina, when the jet struck a bird Monday night.

The flight crew shut down the affected engine and turned the flight back around.

The plane has been taken out of service.
