Chicago police have charged four people in the fatal shooting of 9-year-old Antonio Smith Junior on Chicago’s South Side.

Charged with first-degree murder are the suspected gunman, Derrick Allmon, 19, of the 7400 block of South Shore Drive; Jabari Williams, 22,  of the 1900 block of North Sycamore Street in Hanover Park; Paris Denard, 19, of the 7300 block of South Dorchester Avenue; and Michael Baker, 19, of the 8100 block of South Wentworth Avenue.

Smith was shot at least four times in the 1200 block of east 71st St. a few blocks from his home on Aug. 20. His body was found in a backyard.

Police say the men may have targeted him, because they thought he shouted a warning to rival gangbangers.

Smith is the youngest victim of gun violence in Chicago so far this year.

The suspects are all due in bond court on Saturday.
