Firefighters in Evanston say it was a stubborn blaze that broke-out in a large wood-frame home early Friday afternoon that took them a while to bring under control.

The fire occurred in the 2500 block of Harrison.

The area is lined with homes built in the late 1800s.

Fire officials tell WGN new owners moved into the house about two months ago and that some kind of remodeling work was being performed.

An exact cause of the fire is still under investigation and there are no reports of injuries.
