Cases of measles rises to 15 in Cook County

CHICAGO — An adult living in north suburban Cook County has tested positive for measles, the Cook County Health Department confirms.

The source of infection and the person’s vaccination status are unknown at this time. Health officials say the investigation is on-going.

This latest case brings the total of measles cases in the county to 15. Thirteen of the 15 measles cases are tied to the KinderCare Learning Center in Palatine. It’s unclear if this newest case is tied to the day care center as well.
