1 dead, 3 injured after car lands on CTA Blue Line tracks

ROSEMONT, Ill. — One person was killed and three others were injured after a car crashed on the CTA Blue Line tracks.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday near the Rosemont station.

The CTA train hit the car near the westbound lane on I-190 near Mannheim Road. It is unclear how the car reached the tracks.

The car’s driver was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The crash halted Blue Line service between the Rosemont and O’Hare stations, but service later resumed.
