CHICAGO - Two robbery suspects were killed and another two injured during a high-speed car chase with police Friday. Four police officers were also injured.

The chase originated in the south suburbs and ended with a crash in West Pullman.

Chicago Police Deputy Superintendent John Escalante says it all began when four suspects robbed the manager of a fast-food restaurant in south suburban Tinley Park around 11 a.m. Friday morning.

Illinois State Police followed the car up I-57. When they exited the highway, Chicago Police joined the pursuit.

It ended with the vehicle the suspects were driving in overturned and the police vehicle on fire on the lawn of a home at the corner of 124th and Union. Witnesses called the collision horrific.

The four Chicago police officers in the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
