Bulls down Heat in overtime

Showing the grit, hustle and determination that has defined so many of their regular-season victories over the Heat, the Bulls prevailed 95-8 in overtime Sunday afternoon at the United Center.

With his father, Yannick, cheering from the stands, Joakim Noah capped a monster game with an offensive rebound, putback and then block at th8e other end late in overtime. Noah finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and five blocks.

D.J. Augustin’s 22 points led the Bulls. Jimmy Butler added 16 points, 11 rebounds and tenacious defense on LeBron James that included two strips in the final minutes of regulation. James didn’t attempt a free throw.

The Bulls scored the first nine points of overtime and had a 27-6 edge in second-chance points.
