Residents in North suburban Buffalo Grove are being urged to lock windows and doors after a woman woke up to find a stranger straddling her in her home.

It happened early Saturday morning in a condo on Miller Lane.

Police said the woman struggled briefly with the man before he ran out through an open patio door. He did not show a weapon.

Police said the suspect may be linked to another home invasion in the same area from three years ago.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-9 white man between 30 to 40 years old. He has an average build with short brown and receding hair, a slight tan and no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt with pants and no shoes, police said.
