Brutally cold air moves back into Chicago area: Forecast

Brutally cold air is returning to the region and is going to stay around for at least a couple days.

A Wind Chill WARNING is in effect until Wednesday 9:00 AM.  Wind chills of -25 to -40 are possible during that time period.

Temperatures today are expected to fall to near -5 this morning and then hover near that mark throughout the day.  The good news is we won’t see more snow and a decent dose of sunshine is expected today as well.

Record low temperatures are expected tonight.  A forecasted overnight low of -18 would break the break the record of -13.  Wind chills of -30 to -40 are expected as well.

Tuesday will be cold once again with a high near 0 and wind chills of -30 to -40.
