Two Chicago Public Schools earned a prestigious national honor.
Brooks College Prep and Edison Gifted Elementary have achieved National Blue Ribbon recognition.
Only 16 schools in Illinois and 349 nationwide were awarded the distinction this year.
Both tested in the top 15 percent of schools.
The schools will be formally recognized at a ceremony next month in Washington.
