JOLIET, Ill. — A 2-year-old boy was shot in Joliet on Tuesday, police said.

It happened about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Landau Avenue. The boy’s father told police his family was outside when someone drove by in a dark SUV and started shooting.

The boy was shot in his leg; the injury is not life-threatening.

The boy’s father told police he has had trouble with gang members over the past month and has been shot at before.

No one was in custody.
