CHICAGO — Bond was set at $500,000 for a man charged with sexually assaulting a DePaul University student.

Prosecutors say Isidrio Valverde, 40, attacked the victim early Thursday morning as she was walking into her apartment near campus in the 900 block of West Belden Avenue.

People who know Valverde identified him after police released a surveillance photo.

Valverde is also facing several charges related to his arrest. When police tried to take him into custody, he crashed his car into a tree and injured an officer.

Police are trying to determine if he’s also responsible for two other sexual assaults on the North Side.

The other two attacks happened around 3:45 a.m. Aug. 9 in the 1900 block of North Bissell Street and around 12:25 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 100 block of West Goethe Street, according to police.
