LOCKPORT, Ill. — Two workers who were found dead in a Lockport construction site both died from fatal gunshot wounds, the Will County Coroner said Wednesday.

The bodies of brothers Marco Ceja Sanchez, 37, and David Ceja Sanchez, 36, were found inside a townhouse that was under construction Tuesday morning by a project foreman who arrived early to check on the progress of the new “Sagebrook” development off 163rd Street. The coroner’s office confirmed their identities through fingerprint comparisons during an autopsy Wednesday.

The Lockport Police Department is investigating their deaths as a double homicide in cooperation with the Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force. Police have released very few details as the investigation is underway.

Construction workers nearby say they are not afraid for themselves but certainly are interested just exactly how the men met their fate.
