A hit and run accident claimed one of the first lives of 2015 in the Chicago area.

Less than three hours into the new year 30-year-old Amir Robeldo was struck while riding his bicycle under a viaduct in the 4700 block of West Division in Humboldt Park.

Just hours before he was killed, the father of two was mixing music, at a family new year’s eve get-together.

Relatives say Amir was a DJ and construction worker and was the life of any party.

His long-time partner Fatima Alaniz and her niece Ibon say Amir played music at the family party before heading out to another party around 2:30 a.m.

He was supposed to stop by to see his two daughter’s first—but never made it. Minutes later, he was hit by a vehicle that kept going on Division near Cicero.

He died a short time later at the hospital.

“ (Fatima) wants justice,” Ibon said. “Because hopefully the person who did this gives himself up because he doesn’t know how much pain he caused the two little girls.”

Amir is originally from Chiapas, Mexico.

Family says funeral services will be held here, before flying his body back to Mexico to be buried.
