Body of Best Man recovered from NY boat accident

A boating accident killed a bride-to-be and best man from a wedding that was supposed to be two weeks away.

The victims were aboard a speedboat when it crashed into a construction barge on the Hudson River, on Friday.

Passengers included Lindsey Stewart and Brian Bond, who were planning to marry on August 10.

Mark Lennon, who was to be their best man, and Stewart disappeared after the crash.

Stewart’s body was recovered Saturday.

A jet skier reported a body in the river Sunday.

Investigators say they believe it is Lennon’s.

The boat operator, 35-year-old Jojo K. John, has been arrested.

John was arraigned at an area hospital on one count of first-degree vehicular manslaughter and three counts of second-degree vehicular assault.

Police say he John was driving the boat intoxicated.

Investigators are checking to see if the lights on the barge were working at the time of the crash.

The other passengers on the boat, including the groom-to-be, remain hospitalized with head injuries.
