As the weather warms up, more people are hitting the water.

The Great Lakes Surf and Rescue Project reports the number of lake drownings is up 69 people compared to this time last year.

Today the National Weather Service has issued a beach hazard alert due to dangerous swimming conditions in Lake Michigan.
