Bail set at $1M for Elgin man charged with attempted murder

ELGIN, Ill. — Bail was set at $1 million Sunday for an Elgin man charged with attempted murder in connection with a May shooting at a home on Dubois Avenue, according to a release from the Elgin Police Department.

Victor Rivera, 23, was also charged with one count of possession/manufacture of a controlled substance/intent and one count of possession of controlled substance in reference a separate investigation conducted by the gang and drug units, according to the release.

Rivera was arrested about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the area of Watch Street and Watch Court in Elgin, Ill., police said.

Rivera appeared in  bond court Sunday morning. His bond was set at $1 million  for the attempted murder case and $500,000 for the delivery of a controlled substance incident.
