FOREST PARK — A 10-month-old infant is on life support and two other people were injured in a serious crash early on I-290 early Sunday morning, according to police.

Illinois State Police said a Hyundai Elantra was sitting stationary in the right lane of eastbound I-290 with no lights on near Des Plaines Ave. when it was rear ended by a Honda Odyssey around 3:30 a.m. Sunday Morning.

A 10-month-old infant inside the Elantra was not “correctly confined” in a carseat, police said, and was seriously injured in the crash. She is currently on life support at Loyola Hospital. The 25-year-old driver of the Elantra and 50-year-old driver of the Odyssey were also injured in the crash and treated at area hospitals.

Police said they believe alcohol was involved in the crash.
