ROCHELLE, Ill. -- Authorities say roughly 30 homes in the northern Illinois community of Rochelle are either completely destroyed or uninhabitable.

Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said Friday only residents will be allowed into the area. He says no volunteers are needed Friday.

He estimates that the path of a tornado that touched down in the area was at least a quarter mile wide.

No deaths have been reported. He says injuries were minor.
