Lake Shore Drive is back open this morning, after protesters shut part of it down Thursday night.
Shouting slogans like "black lives matter", hundreds of people protested a grand jury's decision not to indict a police officer for the chokehold death of Eric Garner.
Chicago police arrested four people on misdemeanor charges.
The protests were mostly peaceful otherwise.
Police in New York said they were trying to arrest Garner for selling illegal cigarettes back in July.
But some protesters say they went too far, and are calling for reform.
Protesters have vowed to take to the streets again today. They're calling for another protest this afternoon at about 1:30 p.m. at State and Jackson.
This morning students and parents from Near North Montessori School held a rally at Milwaukee and Division. One parent said the group is concerned about the safety of their own children in light of the recent deaths of unarmed African Americans.
