Fans are not just celebrating the Blackhawks Stanley Cup in Chicago, some are paying tribute to the champs as far away as Afghanistan.

Just before the playoff series against the Red Wings, Army Sgt. John Deenan, an avid Blackhawks fans stationed in Afghanistan, painted a tomahawk logo and the words “War Hawks” on a concrete blast barrier at the base.

He recently updated it with the words “Champions 2013” after the Blackhawks beat Boston in the Stanley Cup Finals.

He posted the pictures on his Facebook page, and the Chicago Ridge native’s Blackhawks tribute has since gone viral.
