A rude, anonymously written note that was sent to an elderly couple is sparking outrage online after their granddaughter posted it to Facebook.

According to Philly.com, Bill and Barbara Doughten, who have lived in their home for decades, received the scribbled note in the mail. It reads: “I’m trying to sell million dollar homes in the neighborhood. I drive my clients around and they see your car parked sideways on the front lawn! You have a driveway – use it!”

The Doughtens’ granddaughter, Stephanie Powley, posted the note to Facebook along with an open letter criticizing the note’s writer.

Her letter reads, in part: “I think it’s safe to assume that your sales aren’t low due to where people park. I’m betting the fact that you’re not doing such a great job selling homes is because you’re a pretentious douche bag.”

The note and Powley’s response has been shared more than 1,000 times, and has many users expressing their anger and concern online.
