CHICAGO -- The top man at the Transportation Security Administration is in Chicago for a first-hand look at the long security check-in lines at O'Hare and Midway airports.

The TSA recommends you arrive at your airport two hours before your departure time - that’s an hour faster than just a day ago.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and other city leaders are challenging the TSA with a new proposal: if the government can't ensure fliers a speedy check-in experience, perhaps private contractors should do it.

The TSA is deploying an extra 800 screeners across America this week, and promising a lot more this summer.
