COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, Ill. -- Police throughout the area are on the lookout for a man from Matteson after an apparent domestic incident turned violent at around 4 a.m. in Country Club Hills.

According to a source, a woman was arguing loudly with a man outside her home along the 1100 block of Williamburg Road. She was heard repeatedly trying to get him to leave.

The argument lasted just a few minutes when a witness saw the man pull out a gun and shoot the woman multiple times, mainly to the abdomen area. She was rushed to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Her condition is not known at this time.

Investigators spent the morning gathering evidence at the scene while police in Country Club Hills searched for the man who they have identified. They are only revealing publicly that he is from Matteson and in his 30's.

Neighbors are getting increasingly worried because police have yet to catch him.

After the shooting the man drove off. Police say he may have his 8-year-old son in the vehicle.

It's described as a 2011 red Ford Taurus with the Illinois license plate Z558610.

Police hope to hear from anyone with information about the vehicle or the man currently considered a person of interest.

That person is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Neighbors say the victim has lived in the neighborhood for about a year, but few know her personally or have talked to her at length.
