8 injured in porch collapse on West Side

Eight people, including two children, were taken to the hospital Sunday after a porch they were standing on collapsed.

The accident occurred in the 700 block of North St Louis on Chicago’s West Side around 6 p.m.

A 38-year-old woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Pacheco said. Three other adults were taken to Sinai, she said, but their conditions weren’t immediately available.

One adult was also taken to Norwegian-American Hospital, and two children and an adult were being treated at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. Police didn’t release their ages or conditions.
