7 dogs found safe after doggie day care van stolen

CHICAGO —   A van containing seven dogs from a pet day care center was found after being stolen at gunpoint in the River West neighborhood, police said.

The van was returning the dogs to their owners from the “Urban Out Sitters” dog day care center Wednesday afternoon when it was taken.

The abandoned van was found in the 2100 block of South Wabash at about 11 a.m. Thursday.

The dogs are being checked out but they appear to be in good condition.

No one is in custody at this time and the investigation is on-going.
