Money and credit card numbers were taken during a robbery at the megachurch run by celebrity pastor Joel Osteen.

Officials at the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas say $600,000 in donations were stolen between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

Thieves broke into a safe and took cash, checks and envelopes containing written credit card information.

The church sent an e-mail to its 43,000 church members on Monday, telling anyone who donated over the weekend to monitor their bank accounts and credit cards for fraudulent activity.
