Six people were transported to area hospitals following a traffic accident in the Austin neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, Chicago Fire Department officials said.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, two adults were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Two adults and two children were taken Stroger Hospital.

Video from the scene showed the car, apparently headed north on Central, had driven through a brick bungalow’s front yard, hit the front stoop, dislodging bricks, and then crashed into a wrought iron fence at the north end of the property.

An EMS Plan 1 was called for the crash, which happened on the 1500 block of North Central Avenue about 2:30 p.m., according to the Fire Department’s news office.

Streets were closed off briefly in the area while paramedics tended to the injured.
