CHICAGO — Five people were shot overnight as they got off a party bus in the city’s South Shore neighborhood.

The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. Thursday near 70th and Paxton.

According to the bus driver, the passengers on the party bus were celebrating a birthday. The driver says he drove them all around the city with no problems.

As he was dropping them off, multiple shots were fired at the bus.

The bus driver quickly jumped back onto the bus, along with some passengers, and drove to Jackson Park Hospital where he dropped off a 22-year-old woman who was shot in the left foot, and a 29-year-old man who was shot in the right leg.

Back at the scene of the shooting, a 29-year-old man was shot in the right leg and taken to Northwestern Hospital by ambulance, as well as a man who was shot in his right arm.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the chest and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where he is in stable condition.

None of the injuries are considered to be life-threatening.

Police are still on the scene investigating.
