
CHICAGO – Two people were wounded in a shooting this afternoon on Chicago’s South Side.
Police say the victims were in a car in the 5400 block of S. Loomis around 2 p.m. when an occupant of an approaching car fired shots. At least one bullet struck a nearby daycare center. No one from the center was hurt.

One of the victims is a 20-year-old male who is in critical condition at the hospital after being shot in the chest.
The second victim was a 16-year-old male.
The victims drove themselves to the hospital.
Two other people were in the car at the time. Initial reported indicated they were also wounded. Police now say they were cut by glass and were not shot.
