SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Four children of a woman who was killed when an ice cave collapsed in Washington state suffered another tragedy when their father was shot and killed in Southern California in the same week.

The San Bernardino Sun reports  the children, who range in age from 1 to 14, were vacationing with their mother, her boyfriend and brother on July 6 when the accident occurred at the Big Four Ice Caves.

Authorities say 34-year-old Anna L. Santana of Moreno Valley, Calif. died in the collapse.

Six days later, they lost their father after he was fatally shot outside a San Bernardino bar.

Police said 35-year-old Adrian Martinez Cardona left the bar after getting into an argument and was shot outside.

No other details were released.
