A west suburban man reaches into his cookie jar and pulls out something much sweeter than an Oreo. How about a winning lottery ticket worth $4.85 million?
Geneva’s Ricardo Cerezo was cleaning out a cookie jar filled with lottery tickets dating back several months.
He took them in to his local convenience store to scan them when one of them popped up a winner.
That’s when he started comparing his numbers against the lottery website.
The discovery couldn’t come at a better time. He and his family were facing foreclosure and they’ll use the winnings to pay-off their home.
