CHICAGO –Investigators are hoping an autopsy will tell them more about the death of a toddler this afternoon on the far South Side.
Police say the 3-year-old boy was found dead in ahome at 122nd and South Green St. in the city’s West Pullman neighborhood.
The Dept of Children and Family and police believe the child had been dead for hours before anyone called for help.
The boy was found abrasions and lacerations, consistent, police say with “disciplinary injuries.”
The Chicago Fire Dept says its paramedics worked hard to save the little boy, both at the scene and in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
DCFS services says it's had no prior contact with the family. DCFS and Chicago police are investigating both parents.
There are no charges at this time.
