3 injured after Lawndale shooting

CHICAGO — Three people were injured after a shooting in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened on the 3100 block of West Lexington Street around 5 p.m. Police said the victims were involved in a verbal altercation with a known offender when the offender fired shots striking the victims.

A 25-year-old woman was shot in the right leg and was taken to Mount Sinai in stable condition. A 20-year-old man was shot in the arm and was self-transported to Mount Sinai in good condition. The third victim, a 23-year-old man, was shot in the leg and also taken to Mount Sinai in stable condition.

No one is in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
