CHICAGO — Three workers were taken to an area hospital after an ammonia leak Tuesday afternoon on the city’s Northwest Side.

A hazardous material alert was calledShortly before 3 p.m. by the Chicago Fire Department at Koch Foods at 4405 W. Berteau Ave.

Three workers were transported to a local hospital, where their conditions were stabilized.

Koch Foods is a supplier of poultry products for retail operators.
