CHICAGO — Nearly two dozen schools in Illinois are turning to new technology to help combat school shootings.
Twenty schools have installed the Blue Point Alert security system.
The blue pull boxes are designed to quickly notify police of an active shooter situation at a church or school.
More than 150 schools across the country have the system in place.
