CHICAGO — A 2-year-old boy was killed and a 39-year-old woman was injured after they were struck by a vehicle in Jefferson Park Sunday evening, according to police.

Officials say a car that was turning left off of Giddings to go South on Central struck the two pedestrians around 4:10 p.m. Sunday.

The 2-year-old boy, identified as Noah Katz, was pronounced dead on the scene, and the other victim was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in fair condition. It’s not known if the two are related at this time.

The driver remained on the scene after the accident and is in custody while charges are pending, police say.
