ADDISON, Ill. — A man was killed and another injured while trimming trees near an electrical line in Addison Tuesday.
51-year-old Jose Fulgencio-Hueramo of Melrose Park died at the hospital after he and another man were working in a backyard near Lake and Villa.
The Addison Fire Department says the two men were on a ladder cutting limbs from a tree near a Com Ed electrical line. “Contact was made with the power lines by the two men,” police said.
Police say the two men appear to be private homeowners and not with a tree cutting service.
Fulgencio-Hueramo was thrown from the ladder. Emergency crews administered “life saving measures” and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The second person remained in the tree. Emergency crews brought the man down and he was then air lifted to the hospital in serious condition. The identity of that man is not yet known.
The identities of the men have not yet been released.
