2 shot, 1 fatally, in Englewood

CHICAGO — Two people were shot, one fatally, in a drive-by shooting in Englewood Saturday afternoon.

The shooting occurred about 3:40 p.m. across the street from a park at 56th and South Emerald Avenue.

Police say a 20-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were sitting in a car when someone inside a dark-colored Audi drove by and opened fire.

The 20-year-old woman was in critical condition when police arrived on scene. She was later pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

The18-year-old man, who was shot in the leg, self-transported to St. Bernard Hospital. He is in stable condition.

No suspects are in custody.
