CROWN POINT, Ind. — Two people were killed in a crash on I-65 in Northwest Indiana.

Indiana state police say a Ford Windstar and a Chevy Cavalier were driving northbound near Crown Point Thursday night.

They say the Windstar tried to pass the Cavalier but lost control as it sped up.

The minivan sideswiped the cavalier, causing it to also lose control and rollover.

Two people inside the Cavalier were ejected from the vehicle and died.

The driver of the Windstar was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
