Two men are in custody after a Chicago teen told police he was kept handcuffed in a basement in Albany Park and beaten for days.

Family members say recovering from the abuse, which allegedly came at the hands of his father and godfather.

The 15-year-old told police he was handcuffed to a table saw until he managed to escape.

But some family members are defending the men saying they were only trying to keep the boy away from drugs and a dangerous street gang.

Police and the Dept of Children and Family Services are reviewing the allegations.
